We spent a morning travelling through Queen Charlotte Sound/Tōtaranui with Beachcomber Cruises and the boat ride became a much bigger part of the adventure than we expected.
We visited Motuara Island, stopped at Meretoto / Ship Cove and travelled through remote bays and tiny jetties around the Sounds. On our particular trip we also got lucky with wildlife, including seals and Hector's dolphins. Those sightings were our experience, not something any cruise can guarantee.
